Here are a few suggestion to get you swinging your way through Hamilton’s excellent courses:
The City of Hamilton is home to three outstanding 18-hole public golf courses. Residents and visitors of all skill levels are invited to come and experience the outstanding City of Hamilton run, King’s Forest Golf Course, which has been recognized as one of only a few public course to be ranked in the Top-100 Golf Courses in Canada. Nestled under the Niagara Escarpment, the Chedoke Beddoe Course, a Stanley Thompson design, is a wonderfully scenic, challenging and demanding. It plays 6,084 yards from the championship tees. The par 70 Chedoke Martin Course was built in 1896 and was the original Hamilton Golf & Country Club before it was relocated to Ancaster. It plays 5, 745 yards from the championship tees.
Heron Point Golf Links
In the roster of great courses designed by Canadian architect Thomas McBroom, Heron Point Golf Links, although one of his earliest, still ranks among his best.
Willow Valley Golf Course
The Willow Valley is an exceptional ‘dunes’ course in Hamilton that captures the popularity of links golf in Ontario. The spectacular course quickly gained the admiration among local, GTA and Niagara golfers, as well as earning a coveted spot in course rankings.
Copetown Woods Golf Course
Copetown Woods Golf Club represents one of the finest championship courses in south-western Ontario. The meticulous condition of the course, and the yesteryear beauty of the Victorian-style clubhouse help rank Copetown Woods consistently among the top golfing values in all of Ontario.
Glendale Golf and Country Club
Founded in 1919, this majestic parkland course is one of the grande dames of golf in the Hamilton region. The course traverses the Niagara Escarpment, presenting golfers with intriguing shot-making opportunities as it wends its way through the trees.
