A celebration of music, art, local produce, local people…in a local paradise. The 2012 edition of the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic continues its message of “eat local” through a star-studded music festival, and local food and art.
Saturday September 1 at Christie Lake Conservation Area.
The Music
This year’s Greenbelt Harvest Picnic features another not-to-be-missed line-up: Feist, Emmylou Harris, Daniel Lanois with Brian Blade, Gord Downie & The Sadies, Sarah Harmer, Jesse Cook, Mix Master Mike, Brady L. Blade Sr. & the Hallelujah Train, the Dinner Belles, Missy Bauman and Lee Reed. Gates open at 11AM; performances start at noon (schedule and artists subject to change). The Vendors
Enjoy the bounty of the land at the local Farmers Market; the beauty and passion of visual arts at the Artist Alley; scout for cool merch and delicious food and drink provided by local food vendors. Support your local farmer
To ensure that you’ll know how to grow your own harvest, Mount Hamilton Horticultural Society will host a series of horticultural workshops throughout the day. Check here for details and schedule.
The Venue
The natural beauty and splendour of Christie Lake provide an idyllic location for the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic. Located 20 minutes northwest of Hamilton, Christie Lake is one of the most beautiful lake settings in the Region. Tickets are available online at www.ticketmaster.ca, all Ticketmaster® outlets or by calling 1-855-872-5000 beginning Saturday May 26th at 11 AM. Ticket link. Tickets can also be purchased at Picks and Sticks (905-528-6058), located at 140 Locke Street South, Hamilton or Dr. Disc (905-523-1010), located at 20 Wilson Street, Hamilton.
