Maple Syrup Festival at Westfield Heritage Village

Discover one of Canada’s most time-honoured and tasty traditions. Explore the making of maple syrup from the tree to the table in three different time periods: the methods of Canada’s First Nations, 19th century pioneers and modern times. March Break at Dundurn Castle

Visit Dundurn National Historic Site this March Break to explore Dundurn Castle and the Hamilton Military Museum. Take a guided tour of more than 40 rooms in Dundurn Castle and discover what it was like to live and play above stairs and work and live as servants below stairs.  Sample a variety of historic goodies made in the kitchen and explore the child-friendly craft area located in the Coach House. Work and Play at Whitehern Historic House & Garden

Take a break from school the old fashioned way. Put on an apron and try your hand at scrubbing on a washboard, rolling dough, mending or shopping or try outdoor games like egg and spoon or badminton, weather permitting. Spring Tide Bulb Show at Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse

It has been a long winter!  Come and warm up at the Spring Tide Bulb Show held inside the Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse. The annual show runs March 7th to March 16. Hundreds of colourful spring bulbs will be in bloom, creating a beautiful display. This year features a medieval theme.  The tropical greenhouse also has a turtle pond, waterfall, fish ponds and birds from the aviary. Bring the family, participate in a scavenger hunt and enjoy the first sights, sounds, and smells of spring! Event details.

Hamilton’s bustling Pier 8 waterfront offers plenty of winter activities including free waterfront outdoor skating overlooking Hamilton Harbour. Skate rentals and safety equipment available to rent on-site. While there, feed your hunger rink-side at Waterfront Grill or warm up inside at Williams Fresh Café or Sarcoa restaurants.
